On the recommendation of Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, president of the Biennale since March 2024, himself appointed by the Meloni government, the director of Zeit MOCAA in Cape Town will, against all expectations, preside over this 61e edition.

The latter made cryptic and double-meaning speeches during the very Italian ceremony and then refused to make the slightest comment on this enormous and teeming exhibition.
