Dockers at the port of Fort-de-France announce the suspension of all reception and delivery of containers this Thursday, December 5. Through this action, they denounce “the blatant injustice inflicted on Rodrigue Petitot, president of the RPPRAC”. The latter was summoned to court again the same day, following his intrusion on the private property of the prefect of Martinique, on November 11.
“Faced with two-tier justice, servile to colonial interests and corrupted by arbitrary decisions, we refuse to remain inactive.” It is with these words that the press release from the inter-union of dockers of Fort-de-France dated December 4 begins.
This Wednesday, dockers announce the suspension of “all reception and delivery of containers this Thursday, December 5, 2024″ following “l“crying injustice inflicted on Rodrigue Petitot”. As a reminder, on Monday (December 3), the figure of the movement against the high cost of living was sentenced to 10 months of adjustable imprisonment.
The blatant injustice inflicted on Rodrigue Petitot, president of the RPPRAC, illustrates the systematic oppression of the voices of the voiceless who dare to denounce the established order.

In the press release, the inter-union indicates that it reserves “the right to extend and toughen this action at any time and as many times as [leur] imposes the situation.
This is not the first time that dockworkers have given their support to the president of the RPPRAC. On September 2, the day after thearrest deemed “abusive” of Rodrigue Petitotnicknamed “The R”, the inter-union led a similar action to demand his “immediate release”.
Thursday (December 5), the president of the RPPRAC is again summoned to court in connection with the case of intrusion into the prefectural residence.
