The affair shook the whole of France in 2017. At the time, the media widely commented on the disappearance of Alexia Daval, a jogger, in Haute-Saône. After long hours of searching, the body of the young bank employee was finally found partially charred in a wood, near her home.
And it was ultimately her husband, Jonathann Daval, who was sentenced to 25 years of criminal imprisonment three years later. After playing the role of the grieving husband in front of the cameras, he ended up admitting to having orchestrated the disappearance of the woman who shared his life and to having killed her. This is one of the most serious criminal cases
resounding of the last ten years.
Jonathann Daval in the crosshairs of a famous forensic doctor from the start
This Monday, December 2, one of the greatest Belgian criminologists spoke about this media affair. Philippe Boxho, forensic doctor and bestselling author, was the guest on Jordan De Luxe's daily show on C8. As an expert, he claimed to have been convinced, from the start of this case, of the guilt of the victim's husband, even though he was supported by his in-laws during the jogger's funeral. “But look at his face… He's not honest. He forces. I see him forcing“launched Philippe Boxho, upon seeing a photo of Jonathann Daval in tears.
“When I saw him, I said to myself: 'this guy, we have to question him'“continued the criminologist who revealed that he had already had a premonition in other circumstances. “You don't know how to explain it. There's something you feel. And it's happened to me twice already at crime scenes to say: 'it's him!'”continued the one who made himself known in the Legend podcast, presented by Guillaume Pley.
Philippe Boxho answers Jordan De Luxe's cash questions
After detailing, with ease and relaxation, his job as a forensic doctor and revealing a few anecdotes, Philippe Boxho was confronted with cash questions from the presenter in the bow tie. It was without tongue in cheek that he announced that he was receiving 6
500 euros nets per month, as a university professor.
And although he hosts numerous conferences, the criminologist claimed to have never been paid to speak in public. Asked about the revenue from his three successful books, Philippe Boxho declared that he had not yet seen the financial benefits but he expects to receive half a million euros. A tidy sum which he will pass on to his children.
