A disturbance will arrive “in an Atlantic flow”, announces Météo-France. It will bring “rain in mild and humid air” until Saturday over three quarters of France, with the exception of the Mediterranean rim. On Saturday, a gale is also expected in the northwest quarter of the country, but also possibly along the southwest coast.
“Descent of polar air”
The change in air mass will take place during the night from Saturday to Sunday: the weather will then pass “under the influence of a descent of moderately cold maritime polar air which will persist for a large part of next week” , warns Météo-France. Result: “Temperatures will drop” and “fall back below seasonal norms”, with “morning frosts without notable intensity” in the plains.
Afternoon temperatures will struggle to rise everywhere in France. In the South-West, in changing weather, between showers and clearings, they will systematically remain below 10°C from Monday. On Wednesday December 11, for example, it will not be more than 6 to 8°C in the north of Nouvelle-Aquitaine at the best of the day, and up to 9°C in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques.
