Zurich (awp) – Chairman and majority shareholder of Lalique Group, Sylvio Denz has managed to increase his stake to 55.82% of the shares of the Zurich-based crystal and luxury goods specialist, following the public purchase offer on June 28. An additional period is planned from July 3 to 16.

Thanks to the provisional interim result of his voluntary public takeover offer revealed on Monday, Mr. Denz declared this latest success. As part of the operation, justified by a small share of Lalique Group’s free float, i.e. barely more than 6% of the shares, Mr. Denz proposed a repurchase price of 40 Swiss francs per share, i.e. a premium of almost 28 % on the weighted average price over sixty trading days, or almost a third on the closing price on Thursday, May 30.

The reference shareholders Müller Handels Schweiz, Dharampal Satyapal, Hansjörg Wyss and Claudio Denz have agreed with Silvio Denz that they will not serve their respective shares and will thus remain shareholders of Lalique at the end of the delisting envisaged following the offer . Before launching the latter, Mr. Denz already held 51.1% of the share capital of the group active in particular in luxury crystal items, perfumes, hotels and restaurants.

Lalique Group shareholders approved last Friday the withdrawal from the Swiss Stock Exchange. Lalique Group shares closed Friday’s session at 39.60 Swiss francs.
