More than a million people are expected in Saint-Germain en Laye for this festival launched more than 300 years ago.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will ultimately not have got the better of the Fête des Loges. This Saturday, in Saint-Germain en Laye in the Yvelines, visitors gathered to enjoy the rides and attractions of all kinds of this institution among the popular festivals in Île-de-France. This year, the edition was almost postponed because of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

As long as we do not need police forces and excessive security services, we can maintain the event“, believes Aurélien Hector, president of the Loges festival committee.

If the party is maintained, the conditions still change a little. The stands close an hour earlier than usual. The national police are requisitioned for the Olympics. It is therefore necessary to call on municipal police officers to secure the Fête des Loges.

This closing later than usual allows them to be relieved according to the organizers. This decision nevertheless worries some fairground workers. “We have an hour and a half less every day. I hope this will not impact our turnover.“, indicates Christophe Durepairt, one of the fairgrounds. Other fairgrounds, although also worried because of the new schedules, believe that “The party promises to be well attended.“More than a million people are expected there until August 18.
