“Due to the weather warnings, the poster for our festival on the main stage (Editor’s note: on the forecourt of Neumünster Abbey) must be modified and the programme is changing,” the organisers announced on Saturday, late afternoon.

Result: the concerts of the Canadians Alvvays and the British Bombay Bicycle Club were brought forward and shortened, that of Bat For Lashes cancelled. If the large outdoor stage was hit by the predicted storm, the concerts planned in the Krieps hall, at De Gudde Wëllen and at the Melusina were maintained.

An option was therefore available to festival-goers: taking refuge in one of these sheltered places. At Melusina, the Dutch-Belgian group Loupe played their melodic indie-rock which raised the already excessively high temperature of the place.

Back from his American tour, Francis of Delirium was back in the Grand Duchy. After the Fête de la Musique in Dudelange, the Luxembourg indie-rock sensation led by Jana Bahrich performed several excerpts from her remarkable first album, such as the lively “Blue Tuesday”, the airy “Real Love” or from the melancholic “First Touch”. The rock energy that was emanating raised the temperature even higher, to the delight of the audience, who sang in unison on “Give It Back To Me”.

To conclude this electric evening, a true rock icon was to take the stage of a melting Melusina. Bassist and guitarist of the legendary Sonic Youth, Kim Gordon was to present her new solo album, “The Collective”. But the American finally, also cancelled her set.
