The month of July will be full of surprises on myCANAL, with new series to discover exclusively, and two returning fiction films, to the delight of fans. Mark your calendars.

Such brave girls – July 3 on CANAL+

Winner of the BAFTA for Best Comedy, this funny and scathing British drama follows the story of Josie, her sister Billie and their single mother Deb. All three are often lacking in discernment, and their self-esteem is based on people who do not care about them in the least. A cocktail that proves explosive in their social relationships. With Kat Sadler, Louise Brealey and Lizzie Davidson.

Boat Story – July 4 on CANAL+

Declined in six episodes, this British series sees two strangers, Janet and Samuel, come across a shipment of cocaine abandoned in a boat. They decide to keep the merchandise, sell it, and share the profits. But very quickly, they find themselves caught between the police investigations, and the traffickers’ desire to find those who seized the drugs. With Daisy Haggard, Paterson Joseph and Tchéky Karyo

The Responder, season 2 – July 22 on CANAL+

Launched on May 5th on the BBC, the season of “The Responder” sees Martin Freeman reprise the role of police officer Chris Carson. The latter ardently wishes to become a better policeman, a better man and especially a better father… His relations with his teammate Rachel, who is angry with him for having dragged her into her downfall, seem to improve. But Chris’s path crosses that of a major drug trafficker, and everything could change again. With Martin Freeman, Adelayo Adelayo, and Warren Brown.

Pachinko – July 25 on CANAL+

Adapted from Min Jin Lee’s novel of the same name, “Pachinko” follows the fate of a family of Korean immigrants in Japan over four generations. An unforgettable story of war and peace, love and loss, triumph and recognition. Note that season 2 will be launched on August 23 on Apple TV+, also available on myCANAL. With Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, and Kim Minha.

Twisted Metal – July 9 on CINÉ+ OCS

Adapted from the eponymous video game on PlayStation, “Twisted Metal” is a fiction filled with humor and action that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, where American society is divided between the wealthy and the marginalized. The former live in fortified cities away from the latter, who are condemned to make do and survive. It is in this particular context that John Doe became a carrier, taking care of transferring packages between cities. Until he meets a mute car thief, who will turn his life upside down. With Anthony Mackie, Neve Campbell and Stephanie Biarritz.

Miss Scarlet, season 4 – July 29 on POLAR+

Anchored in London society in the 1850s, this British detective series features an intrepid heroine, more inclined to track down murderers than to behave like a damsel, played by the sparkling Kate Phillips. Note that season 4 will be broadcast immediately after season 3, which will begin on July 8 on POLAR+, and accessible on myCANAL.
