Who said nothing was happening in the Corsican Center during the summer? In addition to the crowded festivals and major events that attract crowds, the micro-region offers everything for the summer season a calendar of authentic appointments.

The opportunity to discover the mandolin, or the history of the Niolu forests, to approach a falcon or to cross paths with world-class athletes.

This weekend, the Hunting and Fishing Fair in Ponte-Novu

The meeting has become an unmissable event and it returns for an 18th edition, around the village station.

For two days, aficionados hunting and fishing will be able to meet other enthusiasts, buy equipment, discover new products, attend fishing demonstrations, blood research or even falconry.

Animations will also be on site for children, and a more cultural component is planned, with traditional musical instruments and a parade of Corsican costumes. Refreshments and food on site and on Saturday evening, evening and ball. Free entry.

This weekend, the Call of the Mountain in Calacuccia

Pour this first edition which will take place in the village stadium, the organizers wanted to make an impression and bring everyone together mountain actors in the same place. More than forty local exhibitors will be present these two days.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy outdoor activities such as canyoning, mountain biking, climbing, fishing or horse riding. But the event is also designed to educate and inform oneself: conferences revolving around four themes are thus planned, on the History of Niolu, pastoralism, wood, fauna and flora.

From July 4 to 6, the Ultra Trail of Corsica, in Corte

It is certainly a sport, but over the years the Ultra Trail di Corsica has also become a big party for the city. This year, the organization expects more than 3,000 runners in the different events. The start of the 110 km will be given on Thursday 4 at 11 p.m.

The other three races – Tavignanu Trail, Restonica Trail and Giru di Tumbonu – will be held between 5am and 6pm on Saturday. A crowd that will, as every year, bring a great atmosphere to the town.

July 10, first pedestrians

The Federation of Traders sees things big for the launch of the sales. From 7 p.m. to midnight, on a Paoli course reserved for pedestrians, numerous activities will take place: magic show, inflatable games, climbing wall, archery, “plus some artisans and a salsa demonstration”details the president, Catalì Acquaviva.

From this date and every Friday, the town hall will once again open the pedestrian course for traditional night shoppingfrom 7 p.m. to midnight.

August 10 and 11, E Notte di a Mandulina in Corte

The sixth edition welcomes guest stars “great” Ricardo Sandoval. The mandolin virtuoso will host a masterclass ahead of the festival, then give a concert and conference.

“Venezuela has a real mandolin traditionexplains Antoine Leonelli, organizer of the Notte, and Sandoval is a true master. He comes with a very dynamic quartet lineup.”

The rest of the program always includes strolls from 5 p.m. and entertainment from 7 p.m.

Note this year the presence of students from Bastia and Corten, the Maxwell Poulos Trio from the United States and the astonishing Duo Impressionniste which combines bass and harp.
