Nearly 2 months after having her valuable Gofriller cello stolen from her home in Haute-Savoie, Ophélie Gaillard was finally able to recover it thanks to the investigation carried out by the gendarmerie.
On September 25, it was at her home in Haute-Savoie near Annecy, while she was sleeping, that Ophélie Gaillard had her precious cello stolen as well as two valuable bows, money and computer equipment. As soon as the theft was noticed, the cellist launched an appeal on social networks and indicated that she had filed a complaint with the Saint-Julien-en-Genevois gendarmerie.
A few days later, part of the stolen computer equipment was found but it took almost 2 months before the investigation led to the recovery of the cello and bows, and the arrest on November 19 of 3 suspects. According to The Parisianthese 3 people come from a neighboring town and will be tried in immediate appearance this Thursday. The newspaper specifies that nothing indicates that they knew the value of the cello – listed within the profession – which they failed to conceal.
« The cello and the bows will be able to resonate and vibrate again”
In a message, published on his Facebook account, he thanks the police as a priority but also “ each and every one of you who relayed the information, and who supported me through this ordeal. I also thank the press and the media who played a crucial role in this outcome”. The cellist specifies that the cello and bows are in perfect condition “ and will be able to resonate and vibrate again.”

We remember that in 2018, it was also thanks to an appeal on social networks that Ophélie Gaillard was returned this same cello which had been stolen from her 2 days earlier in front of her home in the Paris region.
