The restaurateurs in the damaged chalets of the Barcarès Christmas Village could only open from November 30.
If the opening of the Barcarès Christmas Village is indeed planned for this Saturday, some restaurateurs established in the area affected by the fire have announced an opening for Saturday, November 30. “The Christmas Village teams are still waiting for delivery of containers, so the installations cannot be completed by this weekend. We were told an opening for November 30, but we are not surprised, we are doubted that we could not start this weekend We will be installed in approximately the same sector as initially planned, even if the capacity is reduced by half… The main thing is to be there!”confides the manager of the Les Cimes restaurant.
“We are losing capacity”
The restaurant “Les épiciers”, which is to be set up in the large chalet “L'après-ski”, will start its activity this Saturday, November 23 in a pre-existing chalet “Le clocher” in the main aisles of the Christmas Village, before to open a second part on November 30 in the Grand chalet planned before the fire. “We are going to open this Saturday in the very first chalet we had when we started 4 years ago”explains the restaurant manager. “This will allow us to start working. We are happy with the solutions found but it is true that we are losing capacity. For the moment, we will stay in the Le Clocher chalet, before going to complete our offers in the Great chalet.”
When contacted, the general director of Barcarès services, Michel Sitja, only confirmed, as announced, a uniform opening for this Saturday.
