In response to the reactions sparked by her comments about Jordan Bardella in an interview, drag queen Nicky Doll published an update on the networks on June 27 and called for a “blockade of the RN”.
Karl Sanchez, better known as Nicky Doll, issued a statement on Thursday to respond to the reactions sparked by his interview with Konbini on the show Small TalkJune 26. The phrase “le Bardella, let’s go”, dropped by the famous drag queen to David Castello-Lopez has indeed sparked numerous protests on social networks, requiring clarification.
“The broadcast of the Konbini Small Talk podcast in which I participated at the end of May, well before the dissolution and the legislative campaign, has provoked a huge reaction,” writes Nicky Doll in this press release published on X.
“Those who know me will have understood the irony of my responses, but others use my words in sequences taken out of context.”
“I categorically refuse to allow my words to be used as a tool and to contribute to the romanticization of this person who is dangerous for the future of our country and our communities,” she added.
In the excerpt in question, David Castello Lopez asked his guest: “do you think you could have desire for someone who doesn’t share your political ideas at all?”
“Sometimes, kissing under hatred, sorry, but Bardella, let’s go. On the other hand, after that I don’t want to hear about you anymore,” Nicky Doll had replied, facing David Castello-Lopez, hilarious.
“Blocking the RN”
“I realize how flammable our political context is today, and that in this decisive electoral period, the slightest irony is taken literally. I therefore appeal, once again, to everyone to do our duty as citizens, and to vote this weekend to block the RN”, writes Nicky Doll in her press release.
The drag queen who participated in the twelfth season of the show RuPaul’s Drag Race in the United States in 2020, has hosted the French version of the competition since its launch in 2022, Drag Rag France. She also commentated on the semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 last May.
