For what would be the first time since its inauguration in 1971, a country star will sing in the Louis-Fréchette room of the Grand Théâtre on March 13, 2025, when Albertan Brett Kissel returns to Quebec for the first time in nearly 10 years .

This stop in the capital is part of a short acoustic tour, entitled The Side You’ve Never Seenwhich will also pass through Gatneau and Joliette.

“This is the first large-scale country show at the Grand Théâtre,” says programmer Christian Noël.

“I wanted to do it since I arrived at the Grand Théâtre. I was waiting for the right foal,” he adds.

Holder of three Juno awards, Kissel has been working his way since the start of the 2010 decade and four of his songs have reached number 1 on the country charts. The last time we saw him in Quebec was in 2016, at the Videotron Center, where he accompanied headliner Yoan.

Others will come

Christian Noël does not intend to stop there. He wants to program other country artists at the Grand Théâtre.

“It’s a very unifying genre. It’s not uncommon to see young people in their twenties screwing up over this as much as older people. Country has as much space at the Grand Théâtre as French song and rap.”

  • Tickets for Brett Kissel’s show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
