the essential
Customers came in large numbers for the reopening of the famous Concorde cinema in Moissac (Tarn-et-Garonne), Wednesday June 26, 2024, after two months of work and a change of owner.

” Good morning ! What film are you coming to see? Do you want sweets too? » For the official reopening of the Concorde cinema in Moissac, this Wednesday, June 26, Jérémy Cacheux addressed customers dozens of times with the same sentences.

The new manager of the cultural establishment from the 1980s smiles for this first day of opening. Not for the summer temperatures but for the good use of the site.

Around fifty entries in the first hour

With several film posters from the beginning of the afternoon (2 p.m.), the new owners Cinémovida intend to attract more customers.

This was the case this Wednesday with around fifty customers to watch the successful feature films Vice-Versa 2 and Un p’tit truc en plus.

“I didn’t expect so many people,” comments a surprised Jérémy Cacheux. It’s more than encouraging. It was a pleasure. »

Entrance hall, sound equipment, increase in screenings… how the new owners of Concorde de Moissac intend to make their cinema

The result of a sufficient work (and advertising) campaign?

In any case, the Concorde cinema – a new genre – has great ambitions (read the June 5 edition): new entrance hall with counter, provision of several rooms with new generation sound and visual equipment, increase in the number of screenings (between 25 and 30 films on show and 140 screenings per week), special 5 euro ticket operation (until August 31)…

With the stated objective of surpassing the bar of “100,000 entries in 2025” (compared to 30,000 in 2023). Total cost of the work: 70,000 euros.

“No need to travel 30 km to go to the cinema”

Among the many customers of the day are mainly families and teenagers.

This is the case of Victor and Nicole, the very first users of the new Concorde cinema: “It’s the first time we’ve come. We saw the special offer. We sometimes go as far as Toulouse but now it’s easier for us to go to Moissac. »

A neighbor of the cinema, Geneviève is a regular at cinemas: “I saw the opening, the decoration is nice. Luckily, we still have a movie theater nearby. No need to travel 30 km to go to the Montauban cinema. That suits me. »

Coming as a family, mother Mathilde and daughter Lola take advantage of Wednesday to go and cool off at Concorde: “The reopening is a good thing, we’re taking advantage of it. It would have been catastrophic to close the premises. »
