A fantasy that makes its trademark! This Tuesday, June 25, King Charles organized a large banquet at Buckingham Palace, in honor of distinguished guests: the Emperor and Empress of Japan, on an official visit to London, honored at during the evening. A dinner celebrated in gala attire: if the two men had worn uniforms, the women had each chosen a long white dress.
Splendid in her Fiona Clare outfit, Queen Camilla chose a ruby tiara and jewelry belonging to Elizabeth II to accompany her look and shine with her husband. Very close with Empress Masako, the 76-year-old queen also seemed delighted to find Prince William. Invited in his capacity as heir, the forty-year-old was also present when they arrived in the morning, but unfortunately solo: his wife Kate Middleton, still undergoing treatment for her cancer, was unable to make the trip.
The dinner then took place in a good atmosphere… but was marked by an astonishing speech from Charles III: while he wanted to pay tribute to his Japanese interlocutor, he did reference to an unexpected cartoon. “I’m sorry to tell you, but I haven’t had much luck with my recent fishing experiences. The slogan of Pokemon‘Catch them all’, should speak more easily to my grandchildren, for me it’s probably too ambitious“, he declared with humor.
A surprise guest
Under the cautious but amused gaze of his son, who gave a little smile and who undoubtedly did not hesitate to tell this witticism from their grandfather to his three children (George, almost 11 years old, Charlotte, 9 years old, and Louis, 6 years old). Until they too can, one day, attend this kind of banquet!
If Prince William was deprived of Kate, he was however able to find a distant cousin. Indeed, British journalists spotted Samuel Chatto among the guests. And if his name doesn’t mean anything to you, he is actually very close to the royal family, since he is the grandson of Princess Margaret… Elizabeth II’s own sister!
Son of Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, the first cousin of Charles III (and godmother of Prince Harry) and Daniel Chatto, both artists, the 28-year-old followed his parents’ branch and now works closely with Japan, which is why he was one of the guests. And we imagine that the little joke amused him too!
