And to think that customers of Café Terroir, Lyon’s gastronomic bistro owned by Jean-François Têtedoie, ate next to two members of the world-famous group, Coldplay, without knowing it. Or at least, if they recognized them, they remained discreet.

On his Instagram account, the Lyon chef shared a photo, taken at the end of service Monday evening.

Bresse poultry and regional wines

Apparently wine lovers, the two musicians, present in Lyon for three concerts, would have been attracted by the cellar of the restaurant on rue d’Amboise, in the heart of the Presqu’île.

So, what are these two global stars like? “Very nice, very simple, very accessible,” says Jean-François Têtedoie. He who presented the same evening the trophies for the best neighborhood restaurant organized by Progress had planned to slip away, a big favor awaited him.

“My team recognized them when they arrived and warned me so I came home even faster,” he says, amused. “But anyway, I never miss a service. It warmed our hearts, especially since it’s a group that I particularly like, for its music and the messages it conveys. It was a real pleasure,” the chef tells us.

“They were with family, with their daughters. They seem to be wine lovers and let themselves be guided by our sommelier who took great pleasure in chatting with them and letting them taste wines from the region,” adds Jean-François Têtedoie.

Will Champion and Jonny Buckland played the local card to the fullest by setting their sights on Bresse poultry with morels and vin jaune, “they seem to be gourmets”.
