An Amazon customer had quite a scare on Saturday when she discovered a spectacled cobra in her package next to an Xbox controller she had ordered.
“The snake was identified as a possible spectacled cobra, a very venomous species native to Karnataka,” said the young woman from India who recounted her misadventure on the Reddit platform, according to “The Independent”.
The reptile was not able to escape from the box since it remained stuck to the adhesive tape of the packaging, according to the young woman who specifies that fortunately no one among the members of her family was bitten in the residence .
“Despite the danger, Amazon customer service put us on hold for more than 2 hours, forcing us to handle the situation on our own in the middle of the night,” the Bengaluru resident woman lamented on the X platform .
Even if the multinational has agreed to fully reimburse the order, the customer does not intend to stop there, since she is considering filing a complaint, even though the snake has been released into its natural environment.
“This is clearly a safety lapse caused solely by Amazon’s negligence, lack of hygiene and supervision in transportation and storage,” she complained. Where is the responsibility for such a serious safety lapse?”
