“The Mon Bilan Prévention system is a pillar of this global strategy. It now allows every French person in 4 age groups (18-25 years, 45-50 years, 60-65 years, 70-75 years) to simply access a new personalized offer to take the time, during a discussion with a health professional (doctor, nurse, pharmacist, midwife and soon physiotherapist) to take stock of their health and lifestyle habits.”we can read in the minutes of the council of ministers delivered by the Élysée.

20 million French people affected

Twenty million French people could benefit from these new type of consultations, fully reimbursed by Social Security. “Prevention themes were defined as priorities for these prevention assessments and in the self-questionnaires: physical activity, sedentary lifestyle, vaccines and screening, sleep, eating habits, addictions (tobacco, alcohol, cannabis, other drugs, games, screens). …) but also mental and social well-being and sexual and reproductive health”continues the press release from the Élysée.

For 18-25 year olds, issues of infertility will be highlighted, which will also be the subject of a dedicated national plan. The fight against obesity, “a real epidemic that today affects 8.5 million of our fellow citizens”, is also among the priority objectives of this system, continues the Élysée.

Satisfaction of the French Federation of Masseurs, Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation

The French Federation of Physiotherapists and Rehabilitation (FFMKR) expressed in a press release its great satisfaction at the announcement of the deployment of Mon Bilan Prévention and the inclusion of physiotherapists in this new plan: “Frédéric Valletoux, who made and kept his commitments to the profession, officially announced the extension of the My Prevention Assessment system to physiotherapists. The Federation welcomes this progress, which is widely desired by the profession.”

According to a Harris survey presented on May 31 at the Physiotherapy Conference, 94% of physiotherapists were in favor of the possibility of carrying out prevention consultations. “Since the creation of these prevention meetings at key ages of life, the FFMKR has been mobilizing with parliamentarians and the ministry to include physiotherapists in this system, alongside doctors, nurses, midwives and pharmacists . In terms of preventing falls, loss of autonomy, combating a sedentary lifestyle and appropriate physical activity, physiotherapists have essential expertise”continues the FFMKR press release.

Waiting for an implementing decree

Physiotherapists had already benefited from new advances under the law of May 19, 2023, on improving access to care through trust in health professionals. This law allows direct access to physiotherapists, without going through a doctor, for eight sessions per year and per patient, in clinics, hospitals, social or medico-social establishments or in the city, in a home or health center. The law also paves the way for the experiment, for five years and in six departments, of direct access to physiotherapists within a territorial professional health community (CPTS). However, the implementing decree for this last measure has still not been published. In its press release, the FFMKR recalls that it is fighting for the publication of said decree.
