While the Toei anime is currently on hiatus for a period of six months, it is the manga One Piece which also experiences an unexpected stop on the side of the Weekly Shonen Jump. And unfortunately, unlike the previous break which was linked to Eiichiro Oda’s need to supervise the Netflix live-action series, this one was imposed on him by his own body.

As Shueisha, his publisher, has just announced, the Japanese artist is today unable to ensure the continuation of his work: “Thank you all for continuing to read One Piece. Due to the author’s poor health and physical condition, One Piece will at least take a break this week. We sincerely apologize to the readers“. No details were added on the problem felt by the mangaka, but this announcement was enough to make the entire community tremble.
