During the hearing of the Court of Appeal of Marrakech, which was held on November 14, 2024, a new legal step was taken, which consisted of assigning a sworn auditor to the courts to conduct an accounting experiment , with the aim of determining the profits that the DJ makes. made from the song which has achieved millions of views on the YouTube platform.
This approach is part of an effort to ensure a fair and equitable distribution of income between all parties concerned, and confirms the commitment of Moroccan justice to protect the rights of creators.
Muhammad Al-Rifai, the composer and artist, stressed that these measures represent more than just a financial struggle, but rather a clear message to those who seek to illegally benefit from artistic creativity.
Al-Rifai also highlighted the importance of the role played by the Moroccan judicial system in supporting creative rights, which is in line with King Mohammed VI’s vision of strengthening the cultural sector and protecting the rights of artists as integral part of national identity.
On the other hand, the administration of the YouTube platform blocked the song from Saad Lamjarred’s channel until the dispute between the parties is resolved, which reflects the great impact of this dispute on all parties involved.
