The filmmaker published a letter of apology on social networks this Friday after having made awkward words regarding women during an interview on CNews.
Claude Lelouch made amends. This Friday, the 87-year-old French director published a letter on his November 13, 2024.
“On a television set, I explained for half an hour that women had made me grow, that I owed them everything, that love came through admiration. All my life I have said that women are successful men. But only comments taken out of context were repeated everywhere and that deeply saddens me. I have always respected women, those to whom I have dedicated 51 films and even more in my last one. My inappropriate and clumsy comments hurt, I ask you for forgiveness”wrote Claude Lelouch.

“Married women should thank their mistresses”: Claude Lelouch creates embarrassment on the set of Pascal Praud

“As long as it's the eyes that wander (…) I thought I understood that infidelity was a way of exploring and that it was almost good…”continued the lawyer columnist in “L’heure des pros”. “When we engage in infidelity it is because at some point we have a crush, we have doubts and we are no longer sure of ourselves”the filmmaker said again.
