The author Bastien D. Arenysce (pseudonym), resident of Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), will be present for a day of dedication meeting at E.Leclerc in Neubourg (Eure) this Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. He will present his first novel, entitled Alternative(s)published by Éditions Vérone, on May 4, 2023.

Synopsis

Here is the synopsis of the novel: “Arnaud, a first-year medical student, is the victim of an accident which causes him significant injuries. When he wakes up from a deep coma, he is imbued with memories different from those his loved ones tell him. He then tries, braving all pain and medical contraindications, to take back the reins of his life and find the woman he loves, inexplicably absent since the day he regained consciousness. Discover a series of mechanisms pushing an ordinary person to experience a succession of extraordinary events and constantly shaking up the twists and turns of his mind, leading him inexorably to come into possession of the keys to his deepest self. However, Arnaud’s latest memory haunts him deeply because he is convinced that the last person to have crossed his path, a man with behavior that was disturbing to say the least, had a face identical to his…”

A “travel book” for promotion

“I am a 45 year old author working astemporary worker at La Poste and trying my luck in the world of literature with this modern psychological novel, paced at the speed of the mind”, he tells us, satisfied with the “reviews emanating from social networks” which are “very encouraging”.

To introduce his book, he proceeded in an original way. Bastien D. Arenysce sent a copy of his book to “a passionate reader on Instagram”, who read it before “sending it in turn to other readers”. This “traveling book” “is passed from hand to hand in the four corners of and is on its second detour through Belgium”.

Bastien D. Arenysce has also been a songwriter since the age of 16. And his second novel is currently being written. “I hope it will see the light of day soon,” he tells us, happy to meet readers at Leclerc du Neubourg. Note that he will also be present at the Elbeuf book fair on November 24.
