The Dar D’ gallery presents the exhibition “Introspection”, by photographer Ahmed Bennani, until December 8.

Born in 1976 in Fez, Ahmed Bennani learned photography as an autodidact. Always attentive to criticism, today he produces a completely unique art, imbued with aesthetics, emotion and conviction.

The stages of an artistic journey
The works presented are in three dimensions: body, time and space. His photographs question the place of humans in society, between hell and paradise, freedom and slavery, light and darkness. Under the voluptuousness of fine veils, we can guess, without ever seeing faces, female bodies.

In the darkness, bodies are outlined thanks to circles of light, the contrast of colors and textures, even if tone on tone is often used.

The “Introspection” exhibition highlights the artistic journey of Ahmed Bennani, through a selection of works from different periods of his career. This approach allows visitors to discover the evolution and diversity of his work. The opening took place on the evening of Friday, November 8 in the presence of the artist at the Dar D’art gallery in Tangier. The exhibition runs until December 8.
