The 71st edition of the Cannes Lions Festival kicks off today for five intense days dedicated to international creativity. In addition to advertisers and communicators from more than 100 nationalities, the Croisette will welcome the Olympic Flame on Tuesday June 18 for a call to experience Olympic fervor and emotion, before devoting itself entirely to the great celebration of global advertising creativity. This year, the jurors will have to decide between 26,753 creations (vs. 26,992 in 2023). Increasing, the Innovation category (+52%) followed by the Social & Influencer Lions categories (+21%) Creative Business Transformation (+8%), Creative Commerce (+18%) and Creative Strategy (+5%). Under the presidency of Charles Georges-Picot, CEO Publicis Global Luxury Practice (which makes two presidents for France with Marco Venturelli, Outdoor, announced in April), the new Luxury & Lifestyle category recorded 188 creations, almost a quarter of which were submitted directly by brands. As for the new Humor category spread over 13 sectors, it represents 5% of total registrations.

France this year presents 1,267 works compared to 1,433 works in 2023.

Among the first shortlists revealed to be discovered here https://www.lovethework.com/work-awards/results, the Film Craft Category presents 155 creations selected from 1,548 entries, which will be judged under the presidency of Prasoon Pandey, Film Director, Corcoise Films.
