Like last year for the All Saints’ Day holiday period, the “Ocho Equis” association of the two directors Brigitte Bousquet and Marco Bentz, is offering an “atypical burlesque” workshop which culminates in the filming of a short film.
In connection with the “la terre à la mine” show, the short film will be screened at the Strada, on Friday November 22 at 7:30 p.m. “We started our intervention since the start of these holidays and there are 15 young people from our partner the Cransac association “les Orteils au Soleil”, who have registered, knowing that this year we are focusing our intervention on the sound effects of films. ‘among these 5, Julie Cail from Rabastens in Tarn, who came to bring all her experience, we said 15 young people, but only 9 of them participated in the filming. everyone participated in writing the script and the sound effects, accompanied in their initiation by Julie Cail, who made them discover its importance for the filming of a film”, explain the two directors. The plot of the scenario was to start with silent burlesque. “We required them to work on the scene of the demonstration of the film “Modern Times” by Charlot. The demonstration, with the great struggles carried out in the basin, corresponds well to the theme of the festival carried by the Strada.”
A work which was preceded by the viewing of extracts from several burlesque films, Jacques Tati, Zazie dans le métro by Louis Malle… so that the young people could be inspired by the different sound effects.
It was up to them to link a sequel while retaining the same burlesque spirit, to this scene of modern-day manifestation.
“We are image brokers and we want to show young people all the stages of making a short film, and the different cinema professions, each time inviting a professional speaker from the 7th art.” This was the case with Julie Cail the sound artist, “but also with the make-up artist Louka Domingo and the musician Kevin Bessolles who will be on stage at the Strada for the sound effects of the short film.”
