New exhibition at the Quai des Savoirs: will there be crowds in Toulouse?

the essential
The Quai des Savoirs, in , will explore the phenomenon of crowds with its next exhibition, “Comme des sheep?”, from January 31 to November 2, 2025. An interactive experience to understand what unites us, overwhelms us and sometimes exceeds us.

After its previous exhibition on artificial intelligence, “AI: Double Je”, which attracted more than 65,000 visitors, the Quai des Savoirs in Toulouse announced the theme of its next event, which will begin on January 31, 2025. It will be called “Like sheep? The exhibition where there are crowds” and will be devoted to the complex mechanisms of human crowds, often perceived as disturbing or uncontrollable.

The Quai des Savoirs has a habit of creating immersive and participatory experiences. She will approach the crowd as a fascinating social phenomenon. What makes us follow or stand out in a group? Presented from a contemporary and playful angle, it will ask the following question: are we really sheep in these collective dynamics?

Conceived and produced by the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie, “Comme des sheep?”, with the support of the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, the exhibition was adapted by the Quai des Savoirs. It will offer a journey in three stages: compact crowds, such as demonstrations or concerts, pedestrian crowds, which enliven our urban spaces, and digital crowds, reflection of collective behavior online.

It will integrate interactive, immersive and scientific devices, immersing the public in the unconscious mechanisms of crowds. At the same time, creative and festive events will extend the experience for all ages, with workshops, conferences and shows.

“Like sheep?”, from January 31 to November 2, 2025 at Quai des Savoirs, 39 allées Jules Guesde, in Toulouse. Open all year round from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
