Monica Bellucci, 59, speaks to Europe 1 about her relationship with time: “Aging is an opportunity”

Monica Bellucci is the guest of Europe 1 this Saturday morning on the occasion of the release of the film “Paradis Paris” in which she plays an opera diva. At Julia Vignali’s microphone, the 59-year-old actress spoke openly about her relationship with the passage of time and old age.

In a society where female beauty is naturally associated with youth, aging can be very cruel for women, and certainly even more so for actresses who operate in the public eye. Last year, Juliette Binoche, who had just celebrated her 59th birthday, spoke about this subject. “It’s difficult to age in the cinema. “The camera acts like a magnifying glass on our face, we are almost obliged to be even more fair to overcome the risk of a physical judgement,” added the actress.

“Becoming old means living a long time”

At almost 60 years old, Monica Bellucci faces the same challenges. Invited to Julia Vignali’s microphone this Saturday morning on Europe 1, the Italian actress spoke openly about the passage of time. “I think that old age is an opportunity because becoming old means living a long time and not everyone is that lucky,” explained the Italian actress, soon to star in the film Paradise Paris, in which she plays a singer who, like her, embraces her age. For Monica Bellucci, health is nevertheless necessary to “appreciate” this last period of life.

“I am lucky to have a family that I love and who love me”

At 59, the star, who recently found love again in the arms of Tim Burton, feels fully fulfilled, good in her head and in her body: “I tell myself that I am lucky to make another job that I love but above all to have a family that I love and who loves me; to have friends and to still have the pleasure of life.”
