Asked by La Tribune Sundayon the occasion of the American presidential election, the BFMTV journalist was not kind to the continuous news channel.
American presidential election obliges, BFMTV has set up a special system. So, this November 3, Benjamin Duhamel presented his Sunday show “It’s Not Every Day Sunday” from New York. On the night of Tuesday November 5 to Wednesday November 6, the journalist, Apolline de Malherbe and Maxime Switek will take turns on the air to comment on the first results of the election which pits Republican Donald Trump against Democrat Kamala Harris.
On this occasion, Benjamin Duhamel gave an interview to La Tribune Sunday . In addition to the American event, the 29-year-old journalist took the opportunity to take stock of “Everybody wants to know”, a program launched at the start of the school year and broadcast from Monday to Thursday at 6:50 p.m. “We are very satisfied with the audiences”he boasted. And for good reason. According to our colleagues, the program attracted an average of 390,000 viewers, a score up 5% compared to Yves Calvi's show broadcast last year at the same time.

However, Benjamin Duhamel seems to keep his direct competitor in his sights, namely Christine Kelly at the helm of “Face à l'info” on CNews. “We are obviously always looking to gain new viewers, without being obsessed with CNews”he confessed before admitting: “He’s a completely respectable competitor.”. And to say: “But we don’t do the same thing as them. It’s an opinion channel with an ideological project”.
A new spade in the war between the two continuous news channels but which CNews has been winning for several months. Indeed, last September, the Canal+ group channel outperformed that bought by the shipowner CMA-CGM with 3.2% audience share compared to 2.9% of the public. Over one year, CNews increased by 0.7 points while BFMTV fell to 0.2 points.
