In Saint-Lô, Jean-François Huet has been making sculptures of various sizes, from several materials: wax, plaster or even resin, for around fifteen years.
A passion that he has until now cultivated in the greatest secrecy, but which he is now determined to share under his official name as a sculptor: Hasteroch ‘Sculpt’.
An artist looking for premises
The artist is looking for premises that would serve as both a workshop and an exhibition space.
“For the moment, I sculpt in my garage but I am cramped, especially for large pieces,” confides the artist.
His creations gradually invaded the space of his home.
Silhouettes of women and cat sculptures, painted plaster knight helmets, decorative candles and other original creations are displayed on its tables and shelves.
Large, fascinating pieces
In its courtyard and garage-workshop, you can admire its greatest achievements, including a orange giant knight helmet 1.60 m and 80 kg or a large diving suit, painted blue.
Several worlds interest Jean-François Huet: boating, castles, cats, the world of horses, sports…
To promote businesses
It is mainly towards businesses and events that this former professional restaurateur directs his work and multiplies the approaches. “I was thus led to create a trophy for the Stade Malherbe in Caen,” he confides.
He has lots of ideas towards the region’s emblematic companies, who have a strong image.
He also approached the master chocolate makers Les Chevaliers d’Argouge to offer them a mold in the shape of knight helmet “relevant with their name, but the project remained without follow-up”.
Looking for dealer stores
For his small pieces, Jean-François looks for dealer shops: “I prefer to devote myself to the creation of sculptures, trophies or molds rather than to their marketing. »
Self-taught, the artist got into sculpture when he was still a restorer: “At the time, I was shaping rillettes to create sculptures. One day I tried it with plaster and I haven’t stopped since. »
While waiting for the artist to invest in a place that he hopes is close to Saint-Lô, you can admire his creations on his Facebook page. If you are interested in them, just give her a call.
We love his giant knight’s helmet, with its flashy orange.
