“The world of street art is becoming wider and wider”: in , Hall 82 is regaining color

the essential
The Mister Freeze collective, at the head of Hall 82, in , organized a second round of the “Par Amour des Lettres” street art festival in their stronghold in the northern zone. A beautiful summary of the diversification of street art today.

We sketch, we step back and of course, we paint. Bomb, please. This Saturday, Hall 82 reopened its doors as part of “Par Amour des Lettres”, a street art festival which aims to be continued every year. Given the success experienced at the beginning of October for the 1st edition, Mister Freeze, the collective of graphists managing this very gray and gloomy space behind the stocks of the stores in the northern zone, decided to reissue Poska markers and aerosols. After repainting the tens of linear meters of walls in black, the sheet became blank again to accommodate the works of the Montalbanese artists Marie and Clément, Reso, Tigre and Noak. But we were also able to count on Mites, from Soulac-sur-Mer (33) or Psena, who organized a live performance to show visitors the secrets of successful typography.

Noak and others drew their aerosols at 11 a.m.

“Today, the world of street art is increasingly broad and many are evolving their style into something more contemporary, particularly to exhibit in galleries. Figurative, illustrative, comics: graffiti is no longer confined to lettering and that is also what appeals to the general public,” observes Julia, artist and organizer, who had the pleasure of seeing families and elderly people parade.

The volunteers thus took part in the “Toss”, the giant games center made available or in the workshops led by the graphists themselves. Inside Hall 82, the most curious tried their hand at the alphabet game which consists of locating letters buried in the giant frescoes which give all the charm to the place. Moreover, it should be noted that the Hall 82 team, which coexists with the Roulez jeunesse association for the skatepark section, regularly receives schoolchildren to introduce them to this part of artistic culture.

Big news to note, the team has just taken over premises located at 11 rue Léon-Cladel to install a contemporary art gallery. Named “Id Hall 82”, this place is also intended to be a house of artistic creation open to all. Julia, Reso as well as Marie and Clément plan to set aside one day a week to receive the general public and share with them behind the scenes of their art. Likewise, private visits can be organized on request*.
