Valentin pays tribute to Marie, eliminated, and moves everyone

TELEVISION – A beautiful declaration of friendship. In the episode of Top chef broadcast on M6 this Wednesday, June 5, candidate Valentin made a speech in tribute to his friend Marie, candidate who was just eliminated in the quarter-final. He moved everyone.

The first test was a hard blow for Marie who, despite the work done to create a trompe-l’oeil backgammon, was not convincing. In the second test which consisted of an innovative tasting, she had to avoid last place at all costs to avoid being eliminated. If this was the case, she could try to save her skin one last time in a final duel.

But Spanish chef David Munoz ranked her fourth, signaling the end of her adventure just before the semi-finals. Jorick, Clotaire, who has just returned from the hidden brigade with chef Pierre Gagnaire, and Valentin are therefore qualified for the following week.

Last drafted, Valentin Raffali did not jump for joy when he learned of his qualification on the line. “I’m just going to talk about Marie. I think you are an exceptional woman”, he begins next to his very moved friend. He himself must have had difficulty finding his words.

“You rock, you’re too strong”

“There are few women in cooking and what you represent at your age for our generation… I’m so proud that we did this competition together. I know what you are going to represent next on our stage, our generation. For me, you could have won Top chef »says Valentin.

And he continues: “You have always been the best at the finish, in all the events, always polite, kind, focused. Today we had a big day. This morning’s trick, the work you did, is the work of all three combined. »

“You have a strength within you that sometimes surpasses all three of us. Thank you because we had such good times together, you have a big responsibility in this, you are tearing up, you are too strong”, finishes the cook from Marseille. After taking Valentin in her arms, Marie said to herself “very sad for chef Etchebest” and who stops the adventure at the same time as her.

This year, only five women participated in the competition out of 16 candidates. Marie was the last one still in the running, so the rest of the competition will be exclusively male. The only woman still in the running is head juror Stéphanie Le Quellec, who can still win with her foal Jorick. Glenn Viel forms a duo with Valentin, and Pierre Gagnaire teams up with Clotaire.
