After having invited, the first year in 2022, the primary school with the inauguration of the Van Gogh course, reproduction of the artist’s Indian ink drawing in an oil painting on suitable supports then, in 2023 , the Saintois revival, this third edition, which began on Saturday, also promises great moments, with the intervention of Alain Amiel and Patrick Vandem, from the “We love Art” association during major public performances.

Marie-Christine Contreras and Sylvie Féline, municipal councilors, would like to honor Van Gogh who stayed in Les Saintes in June 1888 at the Post Office Inn, run at the time by the Courlas family.

The anecdote tells that the painter drew on the tablecloths which had to be put in the fire, because they were no longer usable, how sad when we know the value they would have if they had been preserved!

On Saturday, more than 30 artists created a common canvas measuring 10 m x 2.1 m to musical tunes and in front of an admiring audience. On Sunday, the artist Jacques Pissenem created a wooden work with a chainsaw while his friends Alain Amiel and Patrick Vandem painted magnificent canvases, always in front of a delighted crowd.
