Sometimes the book is a party. Sometimes the book is an excuse. This Sunday, October 20, the media library and the City of Florange are organizing their 3^e Book Fair, at Cosec du Haut-Kême. Why there and not at the media library or at the Passerelle? Because the first would be too small and the second is still under construction… So, the Cosec for an astonishing, bookish, intriguing, even thrilling Sunday, why not. Because Halloween, October 31, is approaching, and has given the theme of this edition: “In search… of thrills”. The organizers relied on this proximity of terror to color their show, making it an event, beyond the Books. And with good reason: the practice is slowing down, or even declining, among younger generations. To attract them, you have to bet on the unusual, on emotion. Fear, why not?

This choice is also consistent with the other major event that took place in Florange on June 25: the Livrodrome. This attracted 1,200 students from the area. It was a first, to encourage new ways of reading. This Sunday is stage 2.

“Come in disguise”

On the program from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the organizing team pulls out all the stops to attract children and teenagers. There will be a big investigation game “Hexenfest” (one session every 30 minutes). You can also listen to scary stories, take part in reading challenges, or take workshops to draw your favorite scary character. We won’t skip the creative workshops, nor the intriguing “Bal du silence” and even less the makeup stand. “For more thrills, join us in costume!” », enjoins the living room.

Here’s the scary part. The book fair side with dedications should be less so. It will be more classic, yet essential for the 35 authors present. Without a loyal audience, it’s impossible to break through. Among these, will be Evelyne Jonas and editor Claire Pelosato, Mathilde Best and Nicolas Turon, Marie Giuliana and Vincent Engler. Monique Archen unfortunately will not be there. She was a regular at the literary salons of Moselle-Nord.
