Two days after the government’s presentation of the 2025 budget, Philippe Caverivière still asks himself a question: where to find the 60 billion euros in savings wanted by Michel Barnier to clean up public accounts?

“And I don’t have good news for the viewers of What an era!for seniors”begins the columnist, this Saturday, October 12, on 2. “The government wants to postpone the increase in pensions from January to July. They are very nice, but if you die in March, you don’t really care about the increase,” he quips.

Another avenue put forward by the Prime Minister: ask his ministries to make efforts. “To Culture, Rachida Dati will no longer be able to throw away her new shoes at the end of the day. She will have to keep them for at least three days. It’s hard, but the situation demands it,” continues Philippe Caverivière. Inside, “Bruno Retailleau will be able to continue his expulsions of illegal immigrants, but in Blablacar and by driving himself”he then asserts.

And if these first leads are not enough, Michel Barnier will have to call on Jean-Pierre Foucault, who was the guest of Quelle Époque! the previous week. “Michel Barnier, you are playing for 60 billion, it’s a nice sum,” announces Philippe Caverivière, imitating the former presenter of Who wants to make millions. “What is the name of your Minister of the Economy? His name is Thomas Martin, answer A; Bernard Arnault, answer B; Armand Thiery, answer C; or Antoine Armandanswer D”.

“Obviously, Michel Barnier didn’t find it. But he got away with it by calling on a friend”concluded Philippe Caverivière, then showing a photo of Marine Le Pen.
