The historic Tropicana hotel-casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, was destroyed overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, after 67 years of existence.

The casino hotel, which was frequented by celebrities and mob members, collapsed, in a planned implosion complete with fireworks and a drone show.

Local channel KTNV reports that the fireworks began around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, accompanied by a show of 555 drones.

In images published on X, “Tropicana Thank You” is written in the sky, a few seconds before the building collapses.

The implosion was quickly triggered and the towers collapsed in a few seconds, leaving no trace of the building, reduced to ashes by nearly 2,200 pounds of explosives.

The Tropicana will be replaced by a $1.5 billion baseball stadium for the Oakland Atheltics, according to KTNV.
