“Uh… no”: big discomfort in Quotidien, Yann Barthès provides bad information

This Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Yann Barthès received José Garcia and his playing partner Joachim Arseguel on the set of Quotidien for the movie The plume, directed by Jennifer Devoldère, to be discovered in cinemas on Wednesday November 20. And between the two actors, the complicity is obvious.

In fact, Yann Barthès wanted to know the little mischief that took place on the set of the film between the two actors:
“It seems it was a bullshit fest between the two of them,” launched the host. To which Joachim Arseguel blurted out: “Oh my…”, thus showing that José Garcia was largely dissed during the filming of this film.

Yann Barthès wants to know more about the filming

Yann Barthès then wants to know more: “Can we repeat what he does or not?” But out of the question for the actor suffering from stuttering to throw out his sidekick: “Uh no”he said firmly. The host of Quotidien then returned to the synopsis of the film: “A very beautiful story of surpassing oneself and accepting oneself”. The young actor then plays the role of Colin, 14, who enters a new college.

Yes, but he doesn't know how to integrate with his disability. A stutterer, the young boy will then meet Mr. Devarseau, a French teacher, who will push him to face his fears. He will even encourage the young man to go on stage to play Cyrano in front of the whole school.

A film that advocates tolerance and acceptance of others

For 3, the actor then revealed that he was not so far from his character: “Through numerous speech therapy sessions, numerous coaching sessions”he says he is ready to play Colin.

“We wanted to take a person who stuttered. Very quickly, we came across the casting of Joachim, a video that had been sent to us via his speech therapist. We fell in love. It was always Joachim. We didn't want anyone else. I think it nourished the film enormously, nourished by its issues and its story and a certain truthfulness. We don’t cheat in the film and I think that adds a lot to it,” specifies the director.
