In 2021, this show filled Saint-Jean Cathedral, in Old Lyon, transforming this magnificent monument into the stage for a sound and light show.

He returns to tell a new story from October 18 to November 17 2024.

An “immersive” show

“A real earthquake of light”, present the organizers of this show which will transform Saint-Jean Cathedral, in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon, into an immersive show stage. As in 2021, hundreds of projectors will illuminate the ceiling, walls, stained glass windows and columns of the religious building.

On the sound side, dialogues and sound effects will be broadcast in the cathedral (a bit like a podcast, but with the scenes performed in parallel by a little over a hundred extras in period costumes) and the cathedral choir will provide the soundtrack.

Performances every evening for a month

During 60 performances lasting 1 hour 20 minutes each, with two shows per evening every day for a month, a “real earthquake of light” will invade Saint-Jean Cathedral.

During this edition of “Lyon born of light”, the troupe will tell the story of Lyon between 1711 and 1944 through different characters linked by a mysterious object: “The medallion of Saint John”.

“A story of remorse, forgiveness and reparation that unites Heaven and earth, under the vaults of the Cathedral. Disconcerting tracking shots make us sail on the waves of history, epic scenes extending the play of the extras push back the walls of the building,” present the organizers.
