The Lamballe stud farm (Côtes-d’Armor), whose old forge will be relit for the occasion, will most certainly blush with pleasure. The meeting launched by Evening Welders since 2018 has become, over time, a pillar of autumn events in Lamballe. Visitors can admire artists working with metal.

80 artistes

For two days, nearly 80 artists will design, using metal parts recovered from a dumpster made available to them, works according to their imagination. “Around ten tonnes of scrap metal comes from ACE and Mickaël Grogneuf, a second-hand dealer based in Yffiniac,” explain Marie-Noëlle Josse and Sylvie Paranthoën, co-presidents of the association.

Through around thirty workshops, the public will be able to observe blacksmiths, cutlers and jewelry designers. He will also be able to discover all the finesse of glass spinning.

Fire eater, photos, concerts…

One of the rooms of the stud farm will house an exhibition of finished works. “An exceptional work by workshop. »

Some monumental pieces are worth several thousand euros.

As per usual, a fire eater will display his talent in the aisles on Saturday. Also count on the photo competition which will see the winner appear on the poster for the 2025 edition.

Saturday evening, concerts by Drive Aid and Lafaya will make the audience dance. The first named is a rock group while the second defines itself as “a mixture of bubbling groove”.

New things

This year, a hexagon will be given to each artist. He will have to create a work inside this hexagon including terracotta pieces. The hexagons will then be assembled together to create a large collective room.

Initially, it will be exhibited on the esplanade of the Mathurin-Méheut museum. Then, she will be given to stud. “It’s the story of marking the passage of artists and it’s in collaboration with the Atelier de la Marouette à la Poterie. »

Moreover, a raffle will allow you to try your luck and win a work worth several hundred euros.

Evening Welders, Saturday 5 (11 a.m. – 1 a.m.) and Sunday October 6 (11 a.m. – 5 p.m.) at Haras de Lamballe. Entrance via rue des Moulins. It’s free.
