Even if the weather does not predict it, summer is fast approaching. And who says summer says second edition of Tours sur Loire, the city’s summer program, which extends from the beginning of May to the end of September, throughout the territory.
Indeed, if the flagship of Tours sur Loire remains the emblematic tavern of Tours, which is celebrating its 20th this yeare candle at the foot of the Wilson Bridge, activities will be organized in the third place of Beaumonts, in the Sanitas district, or at the Street-art Clinic, Cathedral district.
Activities throughout the city
“The Tours sur Loire program will highlight the cultural richness of the region, while welcoming artists from elsewhereindicates the City. More than spectators, all residents will be invited to participate, create, imagine and become actors in these unexpected experiences. »
In addition to these places, temporary facilities will be set up in the neighborhoods, such as “ephemeral terraces, artistic installations, relaxation and play areas”.
Craft and night markets will take over the Châteauneuf and Grand-Marché squares on Friday and Saturday evenings, between June 28 and July 20.
As for the tavern, the Peuple de Loire festival will punctuate the summer. “From captivating musical performances to theatrical strolls, the Loire becomes the common thread of these summer festivities”indicates the City.
Three highlights are already planned, with the show Incandescencesfrom the company La Machine (at the origin of the famous Machines de l’Île de Nantes), on May 25, a poetic musical stroll, on July 6, and a “Petitmondathlon”, the Olympic games with Touraine style, on 1er september.
A little further, the L’Archipel association and the Supernovae company will invest in the Sanitas district this summer. The marquee of the company 100 issues, already installed on the Saint-Paul wasteland, will present its show Bluff! from May 10 to 12. At the Rotonde, the Urbanovae project will be divided into seven sessions, from July to September. On the Hallebardier site, an entertainment point will punctuate the summer, with snacks and refreshments.
Live and performing arts
The Street Art Clinic is on tour this year “towards live performance and live performance”. The exterior courtyard will offer “eclectic concerts with several local groups such as Toukan Toukän, Scratchophone Orchestra, Poulidor, Les Buddy n’Swing, or Les Barons du Bayou”. Two evenings will also be dedicated to improvisation theater, while an urbex escape game has already taken over the Clinic.
Finally, Tours sur Loire will include new events in the third cultural season of Beaumonts, the start of which has already been given in mid-April.
