There were ten of them setting off under the Bordeaux flood for this 13e stage of the Défi du Galop au Bouscat, the Grand Prix des Provinces (listed – 1,900 m), this Tuesday 1is October 2024. Favorite at the exit of the stalls, Bevan immediately places himself within the peloton while at the head, Veritable dictates the pace until the entry of the straight line, moment chosen by Stéphane Ladjadj to accelerate on the back of his partner, Dilawar, putting himself out of reach of his opponents mid-stretch. In the traffic jams at the exit of the last bend, Bevan (A. Pouchin) had a good end to the race and obtained the first runner-up, synonymous with “black type” (so coveted by those around him), ahead of Monty (C. Soumillon), the three favorites for the first three places. With this victory, Dilawar increases his lead in the Défi du Galop rankings, with more than double the points as his main opponent, Homo Deus. “It’s a great victory, recognizes, delighted, Stéphane Ladjadj, winning jockey. We stopped fighting with it during the course because the more you pull on it, the more it pulls and gets trapped; the hat does him a lot of good. We know he has the quality and he did it well. It’s great.”
