(Keystone-ATS) Princess Kate attended a meeting on early childhood at Windsor Castle on Tuesday, marking her return to work, days after announcing the end of chemotherapy.

The wife of Prince William, the heir to the British throne, appeared in the official register of royal engagements for the first time since September 9, when she announced in a video the end of her treatment.

“The Princess of Wales… held a meeting on early childhood at Windsor Castle this afternoon,” west of London, the register published Tuesday evening said.

According to several British media outlets, this is the first official activity of the year for the 42-year-old princess, whose schedule must still remain light. The Princess of Wales, whose every appearance is scrutinized by the press, had suddenly disappeared from the media landscape after Christmas 2023.

After being hospitalized in January for “abdominal surgery,” she announced in March that she had cancer, without specifying its nature.

Kate first appeared in public on June 15, at King Charles’s birthday parade, waving to the crowd from the balcony of Buckingham Palace alongside the royal family.

She then attended the Wimbledon final in early July, where she presented the trophy to the winner of the tennis tournament, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

On September 9, when announcing the end of her chemotherapy treatment, Kate explained that she was “looking forward to returning to work and undertaking public activities in the coming months when I am able to do so.”
