A modern military hospital soon to be operational in the town of Beni in North Kivu. This medical structure which bears the name of General Chico Tshitambwe was built to meet the medical care needs of soldiers injured on the different front lines in the territories of Beni and Lubero, says Captain Doctor Léonard Kabelengenze, head of this hospital. garrison soldier.
“Given the influx of soldiers wounded at the front, the hospital has a capacity of 65 beds in peacetime. In times of crisis, the hospital can accommodate up to 80 beds. The hospital primarily has a surgical vocation because it was in the context of operations that the hospital was created. So, it primarily has a surgical vocation, but that does not prevent us from also being able to accommodate other cases,” explains Captain Doctor Léonard Kabelengenze.
Care will be free not only for the military but also for civilians in the region.
“We have two operating theaters, an emergency room, two pavilions, the imaging department, we have the new generation digital radio machine, we have a 3D image ultrasound machine, the pharmacy. And we have a dentistry department with a modern dental chair of the third generation. We have VIP hospitalization. The hospital will not only receive military personnel but also civilians at any time,” said Captain Doctor Léonard Kabelengenze.
