The Atelier d’Availles, the festival committee and Espérance d’Availles carried out actions to raise funds for cancer research.
October 19, 2024, during the theatrical performance of the play Perfume and suspicions organized by the Espérance association, €1 was taken from each ticket. “This is the first time we have done this operation and we intend to continue it”announces Gérard Delavault.
On October 27, the festival committee organized a walk for all cancers, female and male. “The event was a great success with 140 participants”indicates Sophie Girault. The event will be repeated next year.
The Workshop, for its part, provides members with a jar into which everyone can place a donation. “This is the second year, specifies Monique Biet. Spontaneously, everyone felt concerned. »
In total, these actions made it possible to raise €1,774 while raising awareness among residents of the importance of prevention, screening and support for people affected by cancer.
Each association will send its donation, by post, to the Aliénor Fund for research at Poitiers University Hospital.
Great actions and great commitment from these three associations and the Availlais who responded, which shows, once again, the generosity of the community’s associative life.
