The provincial coordinator of the National Nutrition Program in Maniema, Dr Mussa Bilulubyance, called on Monday, December 16, parents to supplement their children aged 0 to 59 months with vitamin A.
He said he launched this appeal after noting the low attendance of parents at this service during this campaign period:
“Regarding nutrition activities from December 1 to December 31, the health zones are carrying out activities related to vitamin A supplementation and Mebandazole parasitization, targeting children from 6 to 59 months . It’s a very relevant activity.”
Dr Mussa Bilulubyance regrets that this campaign has not received any enthusiasm from parents while the community component is complex.
He also explained that vitamin A has a vital importance in the child’s body by protecting it against diseases and strengthening its immune system.
« It’s really an opportunity for parents to come with their parents because supplementing the child means sharing their affection with them and preparing their future. », concluded the provincial coordinator of PRONANUT in Maniema.
