Last Monday, the project to create a 3e regional office of the FIFA took shape in Marrakech.
It resulted in the signing of a tripartite agreement between Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government, Mr. Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, and Mr. Fouzi Lekjaâ, President of the FRMF.
This agreement allows the International Authority to open its regional office ”Africa FIFA” in Morocco (Rabat).
It’s the 3e in the world after the 1is in Paris and the 2e in Miami.
According to the official press release produced on this occasion:
“-This agreement, signed at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, aims to accompany and support all initiatives and projects aimed at the development of Football in Africa.
-The signing of this agreement reflects the constant commitment of the Kingdom of Morocco to promote football and confirms the key role of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation as a member of FIFA.
-Under this agreement, the Moroccan government and the FRMF undertake to put in place measures to accompany and support FIFA projects, in particular:
A) Support FIFA in all procedures relating to the creation of the FIFA African Office
B) Make premises available to the FIFA African Office (the FIFA African Office Premises)
C) Facilitate the installation in Morocco of foreign FIFA employees
D) Accompany in the context of all administrative procedures to be carried out, both the FIFA African Office for the needs of the Activities, and the foreign employees of the FIFA African Office for the needs of their stay in the territory of the Kingdom of Morocco.”
