The Gard Departmental Council is participating in the 2nd National Sexual Health Week which takes place from June 5 to 11. Organized under the aegis of Public Health France, this event aims to promote, raise awareness and inform, particularly adolescents and young adults, to help them experience positive and respectful sexuality.

Four main themes will be addressed this year: prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), contraception, consent and sexual dysfunctions (for example libido disorders, pain, erection problems, etc.).

In 2023, 65 adolescents under the age of 21 entered the door of the Sexual Health Center (C2S) in Uzès to obtain answers to their questions that they do not dare or cannot ask in the family context and for which they find concrete answers from professionals, during anonymous and free consultations.

The C2S team, made up of a marriage and family counselor, midwives and a secretary, has developed an entertainment program to inform and “wring neck ” to false beliefs around sexual health.

Thursday June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the C2S team will be at Gide high school to raise awareness among young people.

In the afternoon, the entertainment will be at the Uzès Medical Social Center (Alzon Building, Place des Cordeliers.) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., free visit to the ephemeral exhibition around recurring questions in sexual health and visit to the C2S premises and from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., a quiz around the exhibition and collective false beliefs around sexual health.
