The moment was expected during this trial surrounding the murder of Patricia Gomit, it occurred on the first day of the debates on Monday January 20, 2025 at the Niort courthouse: the Deux-Sèvres assize court looked into details of the complaint filed with the gendarmerie by the victim against the accused, Yunus Cosgun.

On this Sunday, May 8, 2022, this 51-year-old social worker denounced her former companion for the violence and even rape that he regularly subjected her to, not to mention the insults and death threats. A statement that remained without legal action.

A month later, the fifty-year-old was found dead, bathing in a pool of blood, at her home in the village of Cersay, in Val-en-Vignes: she had multiple fractures, the injuries having been caused by a blunt object. The main suspect, his ex-partner, will be arrested the same afternoon of the macabre discovery upon his return to the victim's house: from his cubicle, and as he has done from the start, this Turkish national denies it. Sometimes by getting angry and denigrating the victim.

“Precious” declarations

At the end of the day, President Anne Haye read the minutes signed by the deceased. So many declarations “precious”. Patricia Gomit mentioned in particular this episode, which occurred on Saturday May 7, 2022, where Yunus Cosgun allegedly pretended to hit her with a rake, promising her that she would “to die”, that it was “his evening”. However, this man she met when they were neighbors in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, she had left him, in her eyes, three years earlier. A decision that was not shared.
