They were five in the lead after eighteen holes Thursday evening at the Hainan Open. There are only three left halfway through. The Swede Niklas Lemke (photo) shares the tournament lead at -12 (132) with the Finn Oliver Lindell and the South African JC Ritchie. Martin Couvra, Oihan Guillamoundeguy, Robin Sciot-Siegrist, Félix Mory and Benjamin Hébert make the cut but none appears in the top 13 yet.

Niklas Lemke holds the shock. Co-leader at -8 (64) at the end of the first round, the Swede retains control of the Hainan Open ($500,000 prize money) after two rounds thanks to his 68 (-4) of the day. He is accompanied by the very experienced South African JC Ritchiealso ahead on Thursday evening, and the Finn Oliver Lindell.

At -12 (132), this trio is one length ahead of the English Jamie Rutherford et Ben Schmidt as well as the South African colossus, Wilco Nienaberalready at the forefront the day before.

Martin Couvra is currently out of the top 20 on the Road

Best Frenchman yet, Martin Couvrera is in 14th place at -8 but falls back in the Road projections. The Azuréen is thus virtually 22nd… 20th on the leaderboard, Jungle Guillamoundeguy (-7) is also losing ground at the Road. At the gates of the top 45, synonymous with the final in Mallorca at the end of the month, the Landais falls in projections to 53rd place. But there are still two rounds to play.

This also goes for Felix Mory et Robin Sciot Siegrist41st at -4, and for Benjamin Hebert53rd in the cut at -3.
