REPORTAGE – The president, a candidate for re-election, let his supporters campaign. He is aiming for a victory in the first round this Sunday.
There were around fifteen of them this Thursday morning entering the bus station at Place Barcelona, in the center of Tunis. As travelers hurry around, they take selfies on the steps, brandishing a few posters of Kaïs Saïed, who hopes to begin a second term on Sunday. Then the distribution of leaflets begins with cries of « the people want the reappointment of Kaïs Saïed ». A quarter of an hour later, the activists come out. Next stop, the souk a few minutes walk away. This is how the three weeks of electoral campaign took place which was to end this Friday evening.
Without meetings, without televised debates and without huge posters plastered in all the streets.
