ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan accuses top Taliban leader and Chief Justice of gender-related persecution.
The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) said on Thursday (January 23) that he would seek arrest warrants against senior Taliban leaders in Afghanistan for the persecution of women, a crime against humanity.
“There are reasonable grounds to believe that the criminal responsibility of the Supreme Leader of the Taliban, Hibatullah Akhundzada, and the President of the Supreme Court of the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan”, Abdul Hakim Haqqani, is incurred for the crime against gender-related persecution of humanity”Karim Khan said in a statement.
